Jesus cannot come into your life without man seeing a change. Jesus changed me and I want to share it with everyone I can. I have works out of love. Simply believing there is a God does not grant you salvation but beginning a relationship with Christ saves you. Salvation motivates you into action. You cannot have a relationship with Christ and not want to serve him. (James 2:14-26
1. Real faith is not just something you say. (Titus 3:5, Matthew 7:21-23)
God does not look at my works and say “hip hip hooray” he is not impressed with what you do but by your yielding to Him. Pray like it depends on God but work like it depends on you. I can call faith into question when works do not follow. Motive is important. It is not what you do but why you do it. God is not impressed by your actions if you do them to impress men. Character is what you do when nobody is looking and Character counts!
2. Real faith is not just something you feel. (James 2:16, John 3:14, James 2:17)
People confuse emotions with faith. Faith must go deeper than your feelings. Feelings can change but salvation does not. Facts dictate salvation not feelings. Real faith is generous, if you are saved and you are not generous are you really saved?
3. Real faith is not just something you think. (James 2:18)
Work not to impress men but to please God. It is not just something you think. How do you know if someone really has faith? Results. Time tells a story. What is the story time will tell of your faith? If you claim to be a Christian than you need to prove it by your actions. You are not saved by your actions. You are not saved by your works but if you are saved it will show in your works.
4. Real faith is not just something you believe. (2 Corinthians 5:17, James 2:19, 2 Corinthians 13:5)
Real faith does not give up. It is not just something you believe. When God moves in it is deeper than saying I believe. If you were arrested for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you? Real faith always produces a changed life. Satan knows there is a God, faith is not just believing. Real faith is active not passive. It goes way beyond just something you believe. Works don’t deliver salvation, works demonstrate salvation.
5. Real faith is something you do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
